Entry 2

Cameron:

The Christopher Killer is set in a very small town of Silverton Colorado. The town consists of a few hundred people and it is one of those towns where everyone knows everyone. It is set in the Fall-Winter time period of the year. The town is very small but it has its own mountain range right next to it. The mountains kind of give a surreal feeling to the town and creates a mood that makes every one feel alone...which they kind of are because they are miles away from any other town.

Josh:
In the book Code Talker, the book is set during World War II, so the time period is between 1940 to 1945. The main character, a Navajo Indian named Ned, lived with his family. His uncle came to his home and sent Ned to a mission school with many other Navajo Indians. The impact from having all of the Navajo Indians sent to this mission school is that the children hated being there. A white man was in charge of the mission school and punished them if they spoke the Navajo language.

Jake:
In the book Night Hoops, the main story takes place mostly around Nick Abbot's school and his house. Nick Abbot is going out for the high school basketball team, with his friend. He plays point guard while his friend scores all of the points. But while they are trying out they realize that Trent Dawson is also trying out and soon all hell will break loose.

David:
The book, The Hobbit, begins in the home of a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins. Bilbo lives in a house called a hobbit hole. His house is a long cylinder shape that runs into a hill. The front door is green with a golden knob and the door is perfectly round. The rooms on the left of the hobbit hole (as you go in) are the best rooms. They are the best rooms because they are the rooms with windows, letting in the sun light of a peaceful spring morning. The hobbit hole has bedrooms, bathrooms, cellars, lots of pantries, wardrobes (there were whole rooms devoted to just clothes), kitchens, and dining rooms. All these rooms were just on one floor, no upstairs!

Grant:
The book, Peak, Peak starts off first climbing a skyscraper in New York. After getting caught he is then sent to China where everything is different from his other home. He then meets a young Tibetian boy named Sun-jo and a Tibet monk named Zola who is a good friend of Peak's dad and a climber. Peak also doesn't know yet that he has been selected to go summit Mt. Everest. Once at the Base Camp everything starts to change for Peak. He starts learning many things about the mountain and himself.
Jaxon:
The Westing Game takes place in the luxurious apartments on the shore of Lake Michigan. The Westing Manson is sitting on a hill looking over the city. The only buildings around are the Sunset Tower Apartments and the Westing home. All of the civilians who have received the mysterious letter are still in a surprise of what is going to come later down the road.
